We spend so much of our time finding that person that will love us the way we think we need to be loved, while all the while forgetting about the love we need. So caught up and concerned with the love we must receive to feel alive that we forget where it started.
That love we develop for another individual can sometimes infect us, and force us to feed. Yet we feed on the love that we want and desire, not the love that we have to cherish. So it becomes a poison, one that haunts us and also pushes us. This isn't love, but a hazardous lust. It's takes heartbreak to learn.
We are better after heartbreak, but also less trusting. That is not a bad concept, one of mistrust, rather a revelation that we must value those close to us. These people around us at all time in the darkest of moments are the most deserving of our love and devotion.
The hand at my back is more comforting than the hand against my chest. Here my heart beat and live.
